Visit the ancient city of Elea-Velia with Campania>Artecard, founded in the mid-6th century BC by Greek exiles and renowned as the birthplace of two great philosophers, Parmenides and Zeno, the founders of the Eleatic school of philosophy.

Located in Ascea Marina, the Archaeological Park of Elea-Velia is considered one of the gems of the Cilento National Park. Founded in the mid-6th century BC by Greek exiles, the city is renowned for two great philosophers, Parmenides and Zeno, the founders of the Eleatic school of philosophy.

The visitor route begins in the lower city, where most of the buildings date back to the Hellenistic and Roman periods. A must-see is Porta Rosa, a prestigious monument that served a dual function: as a connection between the two districts of the city and as a viaduct linking the two peaks of the acropolis.
