Visit the Pompeii Archaeological Park with Campania>Artecard, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offering an impressively preserved collection of buildings, monuments, and artworks. Rediscovered after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, Pompeii was buried under ash and lapilli, preserving a unique snapshot of ancient Roman life.

Pompeii was rediscovered in the 16th century, but systematic exploration only began in 1748 under the reign of Charles III of Bourbon. Excavations continued over the following centuries, leading to significant discoveries such as the House of the Faun and the development of the plaster cast technique, which allowed for the recovery of imprints of the victims' bodies.

In the 20th century, excavations focused on the eastern areas, while the conservation of the site became a priority, especially after the 1980 earthquake. Today, Pompeii remains an ongoing subject of study and restoration, preserving its historical and cultural significance.
