Parco Archeologico - Ambientale del Pausilypon

Visit the Pausilypon Archaeological Park with Campania>Artecard, accessed through the Seiano Cave in Posillipo—a Roman tunnel over 700 meters long that leads to the remains of the Pausilypon villa, built in the 1st century BCE by Publius Vedius Pollio.

Located between the Trentaremi promontory and the Gaiola valley, this site holds great naturalistic, archaeological, and scenic value. It includes a theater, an odeion, representative halls, and maritime structures connected to the Gaiola Underwater Park. Designed in harmony with nature, the villa featured thermal baths, gardens, performance areas, and a port system with well-preserved fish ponds. After Pollio’s death, the site became an imperial residence.

Today, restored from neglect, the park stands as an important cultural and tourist attraction for Naples, celebrating the scenic beauty and luxury of ancient Rome.
