Visit the Museum of the Arch of Trajan with Campania>Artecard, dedicated to narrating the deeds and legacy of Emperor Trajan.
This site lies along the Via Francigena del Sud, the ancient pilgrimage route connecting Rome to Santa Maria di Leuca, and the Via Appia, the European consular road, which in 2024 was officially designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Museum of the Arch of Trajan dedicated to recounting the events depicted in the decorations of the Arch of Emperor Trajan through the permanent installation "I Racconti dell’Arco", housed inside the Church of Sant’Ilario.
The exhibition narrates key moments of Trajan’s reign, including: The victory over the Dacians, the completion of the Via Traiana, acts of generosity, his military conquests. These stories are brought to life through digital screens and advanced audio technology, offering an immersive experience.
The Arch of Trajan marks two significant historical routes: the Via Francigena del Sud, connecting Rome to Santa Maria di Leuca and the Via Appia, the European consular road, which was officially recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2024.
