Complesso Monumentale Sant’Anna dei Lombardi

Visit the Monumental Complex of Sant'Anna dei Lombardi with Campania>Artecard, emblem of the Tuscan and Neapolitan Renaissance. Not to be missed is the Vasari's Sacristy

The Church of Santa Maria di Monteoliveto, better known as Sant'Anna dei Lombardi, was founded in 1411 by Gurello Origlia, prothonotary of the King of Naples Ladislaus of Durazzo, who oversaw the construction of the monastic complex of the Olivetan fathers. During the 1500s the church was enriched with numerous works of sculpture, altars and sepulchres, so much so that it represents, like San Domenico Maggiore and San Giovanni a Carbonara, the privileged place for knowledge of Neapolitan sculpture of that century. Just as of primary importance are the pictorial works that Monteoliveto preserves, evidence of the fertile relations between “outsiders” and Neapolitan painting in the mid-1500s: the Tuscan Giorgio Vasari and the Spaniard Pedro Rubiales.

By showing your Campania Artecard at the ticket office, you will receive a free audio guide from ITGuides to explore the masterpieces of the monumental complex
