Visit the Museo Campano - Museo Provinciale di Capua (Caserta) with Campania>Artecard. Also known as the Museo Campano, it houses a unique collection in Campania of pre-imperial sculptures of the Matres Matutae.
The museum is housed in the historic Antignano Palace, founded in the 9th century and incorporating the remains of San Lorenzo ad Crucem, a Lombard-era chapel located on the site of one of the three noble seats of the city. The building boasts a splendid Durazzo-Catalan portal, adorned with the crests of the Antignano and d’Alagno families. The museum is divided into two sections: Archaeological and Medieval, with an important library. It features 32 exhibition rooms, 20 storage rooms, three large courtyards, and a vast garden.
