Visit the Hortus Conclusus in Benevento with Campania>Artecard, a contemporary art installation created in 1992 by Mimmo Paladino, a leading figure of the Italian Transavantgarde movement in collaboration with architects Roberto Serino and Pasquale Palmieri, and lighting designer Filippo Cannata.

Paladino envisioned the Hortus Conclusus as a place of peace, offering an escape from the eternal struggle that every individual experiences both in the outside world and within their own inner self. To convey this message, the installation incorporates elements inspired by mythology and the history of Benevento.

The most remarkable piece is the Bronze Horse, a recurring theme in Paladino's work. Positioned atop the ancient walls, it appears to watch over the Hortus from every direction, giving the space a timeless and mystical aura.
